Residency and Mentorship
Dr. Masa is deeply committed to teaching and inspiring the next generation of Naturopathic Physicians.
He has long been doing year-long, AANMC-accredited residency programs through Bastyr University and is now transitioning his program into a Junior Associate Program designed to help new graduates become more independent in both medicine and business.

Unlike traditional residencies, the Junior Associate Program is unpaid, but they quickly gain experience practicing on their own. Once licensed and credentialed, they can join our team as an Associate and begin building their practice with less financial strain.
Because naturopathic doctors do not receive external funding support, residency supervisors often carry the financial burden personally—making it difficult to sustain long-term training programs.

This new model aims to ease that conflict. Most successful clinics require two years of residency to recover initial losses; in this program, associates start with a fixed rate (Year 1: $50–80K, Year 2: $60–100K), and once they generate revenue above $100K, contributions return to the supervisor.

If systemic support through federal funding or donors becomes available, the Junior Associate Program can be sustained and expanded through the non-profit Integrative Medicine Group. Generous donations are welcome to help nurture and grow this vision.
