Selphyl took over Cascade System by MTF around 2009

Use of CaCl counters anticoagulant and converts fibrinogen

to fibrin PRFM allows platelets to stay localized and viable

leading to sustained release of growth factors.

(Platelets cause release of various growth factors for tissue

healing).

Pt’s do not require as much time off w/ Selphyl. Pain

significantly less. Leukocyte (neutrophil) rich vs poor: papers

demonstrate increase tendon scores (damage) and

inflammation w/ leukocyte rich, but there is no significant

difference after 14 days
